Powerhouse Consultancy brings 30 years of C-suite execution experience to the world's most complex energy challenges — from national EV rollouts to Presidential-endorsed microgrid programmes across four continents.
Powerhouse Consultancy Ltd is a UK-registered global management consultancy with specialist capability in EV, energy storage and telecommunications infrastructure. We work at the intersection of strategy and execution — helping clients navigate complex markets and deliver projects that matter.
Founded by a Chartered Electrical Engineer with 30+ years of C-suite leadership, including roles directing £100M+ portfolios and national EV rollouts, we bring rare depth across the full project lifecycle — from feasibility and finance through to construction and operations.
We've built, launched and operated energy infrastructure across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas. We don't just advise. We get things done.
Richard Hallas BEng CEng MIET PMP is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and globally recognised senior executive with over 30 years leading transformational infrastructure programmes across telecommunications, EV, renewable energy and battery storage.
Before founding Powerhouse Consultancy, Richard served as Chief Delivery Officer at GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy, directing a £100M+ portfolio spanning solar farms, BESS and the UK's national high-power EV charging rollout — including the landmark Gatwick Airport Electric Forecourt. Prior to that, he held VP and COO-level roles at Fluidic Energy, Source Water and ZeroBase Energy — building operations from the ground up in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Earlier in his career, Richard spent over a decade at Nokia as Global Director of M&A and Global Head of Strategic Planning — giving him the strategic discipline that underpins everything Powerhouse does today.
Richard has lived and worked in the UAE, USA, Brazil, Uganda and Ghana, delivered projects in 15+ countries, and speaks Portuguese, French and German.
Real projects. Real results. From the UK's flagship EV forecourt to Africa's largest rural microgrid — delivered at the highest level.
Spearheaded development and delivery of the Gatwick Airport Electric Forecourt — the UK's most advanced EV charging facility at launch. Powered by integrated solar generation and on-site battery storage, it delivers 5,000 EV charges every week.
Led the landmark 100 Villages rural electrification programme — Africa's largest rural BESS deployment at the time. This Presidential-endorsed project brought clean, renewable energy to thousands of households for the first time, working alongside Caterpillar and Henri Fraise.
Directed the UK's most ambitious EV charging rollout — deploying over 100 high-power charging sites across the national network in just 12 months. At peak, the network served over 300,000 electric vehicles monthly, setting new benchmarks for speed and scale.
Every engagement draws on specialist sector knowledge — from grid-scale BESS to depot charging for commercial fleets.

We're not a generalist consultancy that has recently discovered energy. We're practitioners — people who have built, funded and operated energy infrastructure at scale, and now apply that hard-won knowledge to help others do the same.
Our founder has held CDO, COO and Director-level roles at leading EV and energy businesses. We've done the job — which means our advice is grounded in what actually works at scale.
We reject one-size-fits-all frameworks. Every engagement begins with understanding your specific market, constraints and objectives — and every recommendation is built around them.
We set clear success metrics at the start of every engagement and track them throughout. Our clients can point to concrete improvements in cost, efficiency, revenue and project delivery.
With active work across the UK, UAE, Germany, Finland and Australia, and relationships across Africa and Asia-Pacific, we operate wherever your ambition takes you.
From global OEMs and utilities to pioneering energy startups — across the full spectrum of the energy transition, from Madagascar to Michigan.
